Safe Drinking

We are coming into the time for summer drinks.

Gin and tonics, Pimm's, Bloody Marys and various "Caesars".

Older readers may recall the Tired Bloody Mary, which was Vodka and Geritol.

Whatever, the concern is about safe drinking and some summer drinks present the risk.

The long stalks of celery are more dangerous to the eyes than CO2.

They stick up too far and there should be a law forcing bartenders to provide safety glasses. And another law forcing patrons to wear them.

Either that or switch to olives.

I concur with your sentiments. And who first dreamt up the idea of adding a miniature paper umbrella, stuck into a piece of fruit? The added Vitamin C is welcome, but what to snooze under afterwards?

I would've gone with "Bloody Tired Mary" rather than the other way 'round, myself.

Oops!

Possible grammar malfunction.

Should "Gin and Tonics" be "Gins and Tonic"?

I'm stumped... Mind blown.

In an age that demands perfection one can never be too careful.

I was thinking of governor generals.

The correct plural is governors general.

Safe drinking for me is having it during special occasions only and being responsible for any consequences or effects thereafter. The most important thing to remember is to drink in a moderate amount.

Miniature umbrellas = small wooden face daggers

Gins and Tonics.

The only safe drinking is done at home with only liquid in the glass in a 1 story structure.

Car keys hidden of course.

I've actually read somewhere that margaritas on skin apparently cause you to get a nasty skin reaction. Makes you want to think twice about that frosty treat if you're going to be out in the sun…
