Sergio Marchionne, CEO Fiat-Chrysler

English version

we would like to ask in this petition to reopen the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum in Arese (MI), along to renounce appeals presented
We know that it is a private property, but is also a place protected by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage: therefore of common interest not only particular.
It 's the symbol of the true Alfa Romeo, genuine and could become the springboard for the relaunch of the brand, if you would It's possible to recall hundreds of thousands of visitors. The right promotion and advertising would be able to attract as much as Maranello for Ferrari.
Please do not throw away an opportunity that could prove decisive, giving to the Alfisti of past, present and future real Alfa everyone still dream.

Whomever started the petition probably needs to start contacting other Alfa forums and clugs to get folks to sign.

Just contacting Alfa owners won't get anywhere near an impressive number of signatures. You might spread the contact to "Bring a Trailer", Hagerty Insurance (who has regular internet newsletters), Hemmings, and any other automobile enthusiast group you can find. Even whacko Citroen owners are likely to add their signatures.

Wouldn't this be more visible in the "Anything about Alfa" forum?

This appears to be a spam. While we all agree that saving the museum is worthy, since I signed it my in-box has started filling up with letters from something like "change.org". I did NOT knowingly sign up to receive spam, and am offended that someone would use the BB and the worthy cause of speaking out for the museum as a means of tricking me into giving my email to a spammer. How do I get unsubscribed to that group?

I also received an email from them but there is an "unsubscribe" field in the email and it wasn't a problem doing so. So far I have received no further spam from them. It seems that in this day and age anyone feels that they can email anyone else without authorisation. As you say, it is a pity that it distracts from an otherwise worthy cause!

Last year during the US election season, there were a number of "petitions" promoting popular political issues which turned out to be the work of spammers trying to harvest email addresses.

Change.org is a legit platform where anybody can create petitions. Signing up for a change.org account is a necessity for signing up for a petition (the same way one has to sign up for AlfaBB if one wants to post here). There were options about notifications during sign-up for the petition (including using social networks to spread the word quicker, if one wanted to do that -- and create a viral effect or fire brand). I suggest you log into your change.org account and change your settings for account notifications.
