One day my log will have something to say about this

Larry is up to something. Probably stupid , but he's going to do it anyway. It's OK. My log does not judge.

OK so here's what the Log Lady is on about... her log has found out a thing or two about some stuff going on in my life.

Y'all might remember about six months ago my boss came to visit us in Huntsville and said "shut'er down boys" and move back to Waco, or stay put and take a layoff. Well I looked around town some but eventually went back to Waco and left Belinda and the kitties behind to finish up the school year in Alabama.

However, the looking around town before going back to Waco set some stuff in motion. And now I find myself leaving the company I have been with for many years to return to Alabama and the Rocket City, and to our home in Hartselle.

It was not an easy decision. As right as it was career wise, it does complicate family matters and will stunt good old Alfa friendships I had just started renewing in Central Texas.

This move should allow me to extend my career a few years, and as a byproduct perhaps help lift American Airlines out of bankruptcy going back and forth from HSV to ACT. And dudes, seriously the migas at Shaggy's in Huntsville will never be anything like at La Feria in Austin, even with the biscuits and gravy. But they'll eat, and Johnnie Football will still roll all over the Tide and the Tigers. Life will be good. And once things settle some we can start coming back to the conventions.

Thanks folks, and come see us in Dixie.

Sweet Home Alabama. I visited my first landlord I had here in VA after he moved his wife and ALL HER BELONGINGS to Cullman. She was a hoarder and he loved her dearly. They used to go the Redstone to shop in the commissary. His daughter was there in Cullman at St Bernard Abbey to become a nun but she ended up changing her mind, getting married and working for the local newspaper. The Ava Maria Grotto there is pretty nice thing to see.

Hope you and the AA project work well together.

Cullman is just south of us. They have a Harbor Freight knockoff there with even cheaper Chinese tools. I bought a set of Fukung wrenches there. I just had to. Now I can ask for someone to hand me that Fukung 10 mm wrench and no one gets offended.

Werner's Trading Post there has a large selection of beers you've never heard of, too. Which is handy cause Hartselle is the largest city in Alabama that is 100% dry.

I just wrote the Cullman Times where my friend's daughter used to work and the church pastor where she and her husband still attends it seems. I found her pix on facebook too. Small world and getting smaller with the internet.

Hope to reconnect with her after probably 30 or more years.

Thanks, Ed.
The field team I was on left for a month in Hamburg, without me of course. That was more of an emotional experience than I thought it would be. I'll process out Friday, then load up and head back to Alabama Saturday.

Thanks Frank
I was at the Hartselle house last weekend and we saw another bobcat out roaming around. That may be why we only have half a million squirrels around the house instead of 50 million like we had last year.

Come to think, Gordon, maybe the bobcat is why I have also been running low on skunks lately. He's a pretty good size cat. I'm guessing about 50 lbs. He's bigger than the ones Frank and I saw on the Fall driving tour last year.

Exclamation

Bob Cats in the country is one thing, but it's the critters in the cities that are becoming a problem.

In Vancouver residential development goes up the mountains to about 1500 feet above sea level, and they have a problem with urban bears and cougars.

The rest of the city has the usual plagues with urban coyotes, urban racoons, urban skunks and urban socialists.

I culd use him for skunks, but my squirrels are 4th or 5th generation since I built this house. We live pretty well together in the woods. They like my parrot and he marches around when they get close to "his" house. Good entertainment on both sides.
