Nice collection of cars, sorry I missed it.
I'd still like to make it out there, so looking forward to the next time.

Fred and all: thank you so very much for the idea to do this, for the posting/invite, the trip down memory lane (I'd forgotten, if I ever knew/realized, just how narrow the track is, makes Lime Rock look like a wide boulevard and makes Pocono or the Glen look like an airport runway), the immediate posting og the pictures and most of all thanks for the commeraderie.

Final farewell to Bridgehampton Race Circuit

or should I say, what's left of it

The trip (event ) started after Breakfast at the Hauppauge diner. Everything went well and Bob even got his toast on time this time but Joe didn't . We were greated with some Westeners, not Cowboy type but one from NYC (Griffo) and one from NJ (Zunige). We all managed to keep the trip at the double nickle not to offend the Polizia di Stato. With Fred's (F.) directions, no one got lost.

We all paid our final respects by blasting up and down the main straight into that notorious first turn We took a lot of pictures and said farewell
While our cars were left unattended on the Sag Harbor dock, we drank beer and had lunch.

Fred, Nice shots..here's a few more, I hope. Dino and I had a QUICK ride back, traffic was light so a steady 80-85 was in order. Made Levittown in just over an hour. The Maser has impressive acceleration for such a big car!

I kinda wish I had been in that spot for a photo back in the day when a thundering herd would be going by! But I was usually perched on a knoll somewhere enjoying illegals, the sounds and my girlfriend! It makes me think...just what the -uc- has become of us? My time was dominated by Freeport, Islip, Bridge, and Riverhead. At least we still have Riverhead. Nowadays It's Limerock or Pocono, which is cool but I miss doin it on the Island. And I don't give a **** what anyone in this whole country says, LONG ISLAND, NY is the HOME of RACING in the U.S.!! yeah

Wow, what memories!
I had the opportunity to take my Milano Verde to the Bridge with a BMW club in the '80s. What a track! I remember BM 3 series posing no problem for the Alfa and almost getting black flagged for passing a 5.0 Mustang at the end of the straight. Evidently, the Milano caught some air at the drop off before the first turn, much to the consternation of the marshals. However, they held off since the Alfa pulled it together easily in time.
