Any reviews? Suspension work, specifically...

Thanks fer nuthin, crickets... :-)

Here's what I posted on yelp after working with Chris for the first time:

I brought my Alfa Romeo spider here for a complete suspension overhaul. Chris was a pleasure to work with as we discussed parts, upgrades, labor and budget. He was very flexible and accommodating with the idea of me sourcing some of the parts, which saved me money. I got everything I wanted for the car, all within budget, and they did a great job. There was a slight problem with the exhaust pipe rubbing against the cross member of the new chassis stiffener, and he offered to resolve the issue at no additional labor cost. Very cool. He and his staff are some of the best folks to work with when it comes to servicing your classic sports car.

Thinking of looking him up, if my usual Alfa guru mechanic of 50+ years isn't able to get his retirement "hobby shop" up and running so I can still use him since his Alfa of Tacoma has basically shut down completely.

Thanks for the review. Prova is close so I am considering there or Group2. I had taken the GTV to Ralli-round but am looking for a new mechanic after this last round of work with Ben.

stay away from G2. they did a pre-purchase inspection for me one time and proved themselves to be totally incompetent.

G2 took a month to get back to me with a quote for the suspension rebuild, and it came in almost 50% more than Prova. Insulting.

Chris and his staff, in addition to the suspension rebuild, resolved the leaky slave clutch cylinder, repacked wheel bearings, rebuilt the steering box with a bearing kit, replaced the giubo, and resolved vibration issues that came up after the service on warranty. Dunno much about G2 anymore, but I think their heyday was when Chris worked for them. Spider is currently in the Prova shop for Darstan headers, Magnaflow exhaust and a custom aluminum radiator install. Very excited!
