mkeith I have a local steering component rebuilder named Adco rebuild GTV6 racks for any cars that come in the shop with inner tie rod slop. They replace the inner tie rods as part of rebuild. I don't know what part number they're using, but the price is reasonable enough that it's worth it to have the entire rack gone through, given the age of these cars.

Sekal1978 Part number. That is the question. I know alfa, BMW, Toyota volvo and probably others share same/ similar parts and maybe you won't find any part when searching for 1986 Alfa gtv6 inner rod but if you go with the part number you will find it. That goes for almost every car and every part number. Funny how no one compilated a part number book over the years. I'd be up for it. That milano or the Toyota might be a good way to go. Are they exact fit or do they need tinkering? Lolololol

racingswim2006 I've used Milano tie rods probably a dozen times. They work fine - and I ALWAYS remove the steering damper. The Italian made ones from Centerline are quite nice.

Hydro If you can't find OEM ones, you can use 87 Toyota Supra (not turbo) parts. Right side - ev281, left side - ev243.

alfaparticle I bought my inner ones from DiFatta Bro's several years ago. They were OEM and the last ones that they had.

Well, the term "inner tie rod" on a car with a steering rack refers to the ball-and-socket joint that threads into either end of the rack. So yes, there is an inner tie rod available for the GTV6, I replaced the them on my '81 (hilariously known as "snodos" in Italian), got them from Alfissimo.

Eman911 I used a Moog part for a 90's Dodge Caravan when I redid my Alfetta. All I had to do was cut the excess length off. Inner and outer threads were the same. I believe the GTV6 has the same inner as the alfetta.

crackie I think the inner is actually hard to find unless someone has started producing it again. It’s different than a Milano, which is still available. When I needed one I found it at Alfa Parts in Berkeley (aka Jon Norman).
