ossodiseppia Can someone with a missing plate and an unrestored firewall please measure the diameter of the holes in the firewall?

I cannot get a 3.2mm rivet in the hole. I'm thinking the paint has made the hole smaller, but I need to be sure. My car is painted and I'm not quite ready to take a file to the hole. Thank you

ossodiseppia Thank you all, for the feedback. I've not ordered them, yet. I am still waiting for the fabricator to get his CNC machine set up. I will post back here when I have more information.

Anthony Rocco Great work Brian!!

I also agree with the thinner matte finish.

Please put me down for one if not too late.

Many thanks

Rocco

61SS Yes, the thick one is too thick and I think the matte has too much of a rough, splatter finish. I suspect the satin finish (your fourth option) on the thinner stock is the closest to the original.

Alfaboutvegas I've got to agree w/goats, Brian the thick one stick out like a sore thumb IMHO

goats Here’s the plate on my car

otteud96 The thick one is too thick. The matte one is good. Note that if you get a pic as it is on the firewall, that could change my thoughts. Thanks for all of the work you are doing!

ossodiseppia Is there anyone else who wants to chime in?

Feedback is greatly appreciated.

kjf654321 Agree.... finish on the thick one looks best to me but the thicker material is a none starter. Leaves the matte as the first choice.

goats I think the thick one is too thick and will not look original — stands off too far from firewall. The matte one looks dead on to me compared to the one in my car, and the Ricambi one I posted earlier.

ossodiseppia There is now a new fourth option. This one has a much better look to it, and close to the original. It is made with a thicker stock. It's a full 1mm thick. You can see the difference between the other "thin" stock.

I am thinking of taking another run and seeing if the owner can source something similar to the 1mm, but thinner.

As I said, I am on the fence. The two I am leaning towards are the thick one and the matte finish. I will see how these look on my car in the coming week and post pictures.

Thank you for looking.
