Ozsilver105 Hello fellow Alfisti,

I wanted to know what people’s thoughts were on buying an Gulia Super from South Africa? What does a fully restored car go for in SA and are there any unique things to South Africa I should be aware of. I have family in SA who can inspect the car but just thought I’d get people’s thoughts on what does an exceptional car go for and any other things I should be aware of ?

Looking for a 68-70 Gulia Super, restored to high standard and not too fussed if a 2 litre has been dropped into it for more performance but body needs to be top notch.... so how much are they going for ?

As a comparison, in Australia 40k gets you a very good car ( yes they have doubled in the last 4 years)

Problem is that yours is the earlier version! The two L shaped ones were only used about a year, in conjunction with the grey dash. I've only known of one set for sale about a year back and never seen or heard of another set being for sale.

You're right, I've met the owner earlier this year and he said he had been looking for those for a while, but had not been able to locate them...

Andrew Yes, a TI would have had single carb. Plenty have been updated over the years. I converted a friend's 65 TI to 1750 with Solexes.
I'll take a look.

shakingthrough Andrew I just tagged you on Bring a Trailer, as a 1966Ti was listed yesterday. I may be wrong, but I thought those came with a single carburetor and this one apparently has been modified with a later intake and 2 carbs. I couldn't tell for sure in the photos. Car looks nice but is located in the Netherlands.

lpalmer Agreed with the above. The factory Weber setup, while not original and missing air cleaner, seems like a deal sweetener IMO.

Vivace I see there's a link at the bottom to a better gallery of photos. Not as bad underneath as I expected.

Andrew You need to see the undersides to really judge, but from what I see, not bad. It's been on Ebay before, I don't recall if sold and then not consummated, didn't meet reserve, or what. I wouldn't buy without some kind of inspection, but that's true for me on any car.

GTA R I'd agree, a great base at the right price.

Delllta Looks like a decent project rustwise.

Vivace Opinion please - Would you say that's a sad sack or a prime candidate? A lot of metal work required to get it right.

Thanks -

Andrew This project TI is back on ebay with no reserve.
