deepblue Some strong memories from those days! My friends would follow each race with Autoweek and when the races were at Riverside we would drive the Alfa’s out and cheer on the Alfa’s, and hate on the Datsun,s lol. Epic battles ensued and we have our history! Great times. Looking forward to some more of your sharing. And some pictures when you can manage.

conedriver Nice memories. I bought a new 1750 Spider from Bill Knauz in 1971. He was also the AROC president and a few early AROC conventions were held at his dealership. I remember Bill introducing me to Horst Kwech while he was working on his "AUSCA" Alfa powered sports racer.

Knauz: Home of the Horst Kwech TransAm championship

I work at Knauz Auto Group. Which back in the day worked with the Alfa Romeo Factory to obtain funds to fight for the SCCA TransAm title. I actually kept the steering wheel from the GTA safe for 20 years until I was able to reunite it with the car when Bob Lee owned it. I have VIN 149510756 that won it's class at the first Daytona Intercontinental 3 hour endurance race. It was driven by a personal friend Robert Durren from St. Joseph, MI.
