You're welcome!!

After hooking that up, if you haven't already, check the integrity of that line in the trunk area closest to the fuel tank.

slowcreek If there's one at the evap tank in the rear, there's gotta be a place that hose goes to.

Calguy 17 My 76 GT does not have that plastic line.

slowcreek we still don't know where that plastic line hooks up and to what in the engine bay......

Calguy 17 Thanks Planet....I need the filler hose for a 76 Alfetta GT. Contacted HPSI by e mail and phone. Haven't heard back. They must be extremely busy...

planetmojo2 Just a wild guess... But there's a chance the end under the hood goes to a canister full of charcoal. You'd have to open the inspection hatch that lives in the front US passenger side wheel well (on the rear side) to be sure. Don't remember if that panel is secured with screws or pop rivets.

If I'm off target on that, hopefully someone more expert can steer you right.

If, in the one case cited, the problem is a cracked rubber filler hose between the filler neck and the tank... new ones can be found from Greg Gordon at HPSI. Those were NLA for a long time. But we convinced him to tool up for a production run. His units are for GTV6s, which have different diameters on each end. Alfettas have the same diameter on the filler neck and gas tank port.

79AlfGT Me three! I have yet to examine that hose. I was assuming my problem was the filler hose which looks pretty tired. Now I'll examine both.

slowcreek Me, too. I've been searching for the hose while chasing the gas smell. I found a nick in the other end of that line in the trunk. Gassed me out!!

fuel odors in car

In my 76 GT, where does this vent hose lead to when it reaches the fender well by the jack on the passenger side? Inquiring minds want to know...

Thanks,

Nick
