Alfamallorca Magnus! Nice to make your acquaintence! Were are you located? And please share more information on your restoration. Is your current 1969 also a Swedish car?

magham I think I must have owned a sister car of yours in the late ‘80s; was FLK187 and a Bianco Spino 1750.
Wish I’d kept it.
Self in the process of restoring a ‘69 now. Hopefully it will be ready within a few weeks.

Regards
Magnus

Anyway, the seller of the car said he new a guy who had 2 comletely restored Zagato seats in his basement. He apparently once had a car, equipped that car with non orginal bucket seats for trackdays, restored the orginals while out of the car, then sold the car, and had the seats still in his basement. So I called him, and a deal was struck. So now I have the two seats that came with my car for sale. PM me in interested. I will try to spend some time in the classifieds section for both selling what I dont need, and to try to buy what is still missing.

In 1972 the system was changed to a national system, with 3 letters and 3 numbers. These are the plates issued to this car in 1972. Still valid but will later be renewed to something that is closer to the 1969 spec plates.

rebound strap before and after

I am very happy we chose to go "as close to original as possible within our ability" with the restoration. Now the correct rebound straps are in the car. I love before and after pictures. They give perspective to the massive amount of work required to bring a car back after 50 years.

1750 rear bumper and licence plate holder

All original to the car. A lot of small repairs necessary. Fix dings and marks and then a lot of elbow grease to polish all that stainless steel. But the result is fantastic. We are close now.

1750 gtv brass lug nuts

The original brass lugnuts, with left hand winding on the left hand side of the car and right hand winding on the right hand side of the car. Or was it the other way around?

1750 GTV 1969 rear suspension

Here the rear suspension goes in. No KONIS, no harder bushings. All stays as per the day the car was born. We decided to change the rebound straps to the original Pirelli type in the end, so that will change. The updated version is surely better from a longevity point of view, but what the heck. The Pirelli type honey colored textile ones just looks better and are after all OE

dynamat extreme

The Dynamat extreme is one of the very few deviations from originality. And its easy for another owner some other time to remove if they wish. It ads a lot of comfort, and the old original bitumen material is not even close in terms of performance. I want the car to be comfortable. On top of the Dynamat goes the original type insulation material, and then the grey carpets from Elvizio Esposito in Italy on top of that.
