Paint shop near Ventura, CA.

Hi guys,
My new to me Alfa is going to need bodywork and paint. I simply don't have time to get into it myself. I am looking for a reasonably priced shop in the Ventura area.
I'm not looking for a concours job. This car is a daily driver that has suffered over the years. No real rust issues just one small spot at the bottom of the passengers side fender. Other that that it's just 8 or 10 years of neglect by a previous owner.
Anybody got any suggestions? I'm hoping to get out the door for about $3,000.00 although I know that may be overly optimistic on my part.
Thanks and everybody have a great weekend.

Randy,

I too live in the Ventura area. When I redid the GTV three years ago, and the Super restoration last year, I also searched for a shop in the area. I must have gone to 7 or 8 places, and nobody would touch the jobs, they weren't profitable (ie not Insurance work). I ended up finding two different shops in Northridge to do the restorations. Both shops were within half a mile of each other. The GTV was done at Northridge Auto Body, one block west of Reseda Blvd and just north of the railroad tracks. The Super was done at Miracle Auto Body in Northridge, one block east of Reseda Blvd, and just south of the railroad tracks. In both case the work was excellent for what I paid for, just a little slow. If you've ever been to Santo's Italian Car Service, Northridge Auto Body is at the south end of the building. If you'd like a second opinion, contact Santo or Anthony (ITALCARGUY).

If you want actual phone numbers and addresses, I'd be happy to PM them to you, just let me know.

Randy,

It's been a month since you posted your request, have you found a shop yet? Or have you stopped your search and/or your project?

Also, what Alfa do you have? I've seen a black Spider Veloce with black top 4 times in the last few weeks that I've not noticed before. I've seen it down near my house (Silverstrand Beach), twice in Oxnard, and once in Ventura northbond on Victoria Blvd.

Hi Gifford,
Could have been me but mine is dark green with a black top.
I went to Santo's shop on Saturday and he suggested Miracle Autobody down by him. I think I may give them a shop but I'm still looking. Their price was good and their work appears to be decent. Mine is going to be a daily driver so I don't need a concours job.
It ran so great on the freeway that it will definitely be a driver. Couldn't believe how well it handled the roads on the way to Northridge.
If you've got another suggestion for a painter I'm all ears.
what does your alfa look like? I'll keep an eye out for you.

Randy,

I was at the shop on Saturday as well, but I left before noon. If you were there after 12 then you probably saw my car as I left it there for some work to be done that I didn't want to do myself. It's a white Giulia Super (4-door sedan). There's a tiny picture of it as my avatar, and you can see more pictures if you want, in my '72 Super Restoration thread. All of the body restoration/rebuild was done at Miracle Autobody, and for what I paid, it looks great.
