really... the callaway gtv6 is a plain gtv6 w/a hotted up engine. it's just like any other gtv6 in all other ways, really. i'd rather have the gtv6 w/the 24v v6 that's been recently discussed here:

agreed that it would be great to see all our gtv6's appreciate in value a little.

doug s. comparing a '57 giulietta to an '86 gtv6 is not quite the apples-to-apples comparison of a gtv6 3.0 to a callaway gtv6.

but, different horses for different courses. no doubt, everyone's entitled to spend their money however they like. you can enjoy looking at yours; i will enjoy driving mine.

me personally, if i had the money for a callaway gtv6, i'd be driving an es-30 instead...

Absolutely it's worth twice as much as a regular GTV6 in excellent condition. Only 35 ever made! First factory backed Callaway ever! Sure I would love to have bid $35K but $50 to $60 is right on the money. A fantastic GTV6 in A+ condition is now around $20,000 and that's top of the mark. $15,000 is more like it today. In three months, $18,000 will be great.

RobNH I know of one other one, in black, just as pristine and original with much lower miles, and has the Gold mesh wheels. As nice as this red one looks, I think the black one is even nicer. It's showroom perfect, stored inside, but not for sale.

Well I'm sure that a perfect example '57 Giulietta Veloce with a full 90 HP could get its rear end kicked in by a '57 Giulietta with 2 liter twin spark with fuel management ....But I bet you that nobody will pay you $160K . Regardless of the reliability 1 of 35 is where my money will be spent.

aren't the s/a cars w/the steering wheel on the right side of the car?

my 3.0, w/sz headers, stebro exhaust, s cams, modded ecu, modded airbox to accept a bmw 5-series afm, is probably close to the callaway power already...

Indeed. I'd love to get my hand on a final run (1987?) of the South African cars with the 3.0 from the factory. With a few mods, you've got Callaway power and easier service for sure.

doug s. certainly a cool car. me, personally, i would not be interested, as i like to drive cars, not park them and look at them. and for FAR less coin, you could set up a gtv6 to perform as well or better than the callaway. and with far more reliability as well. i worked for callaway advanced technology as its materials/purchasing mgr in 1989/90, and we sold a lot of parts to the gtv6 customers. things were constantly breaking - especially the specialty parts related to the turbo set up.

Jim Tyson I've owned Alfas since 73 and GTV6s since 95. I think a whole bunch of Alfisti missed the boat on the Callaway GTV6 when they were cheap. We were all lulled to sleep by Mario Andretti,Mille Miglia and Velocissima edition Alfettas, Niki Lauda Spiders and Balocco and Maratona GTV6s-none of which offered any performance advantage whatsoever.

Chi Si Dici Money well spent on this car. If it isn't worth $75K today it may well be worth more than $75K in a few years. 1of 35.....Callaway did what the factory didn't do and the factory was ok with it. Very cool car with great engineering progress and way ahead of everyone else. If I owned it, I wouldn't sell. In my opinion, this car will be purchased by a collector and not necessarily an Alfisti.

Opinion is one thing (especially if you'r not buying), fact is another. If someone actually has $100,000 to spend and buys this car for that sum, then it's worth $100,000. Otherwise, it's not. That's all I'm saying. As of yesterday, there's no evidence this car is worth more than $42,500. If it sells elsewhere for a larger sum, I really would love to hear about it as it'd be a historic day got GTV-6's of any kind.

As a side note, my friend (Griffo on the BB) is working on a GTV-6 registry. It'd be interesting to know how many GTV-6's are currently on the road (read: at least registered) in the US. We both figured it can't be more than 1,500 and likely is under 1,000.

Callaways were blessed by the factory and were sold by Alfa dealers with the usual Alfa warranty. Callaways had 50% more HP and torque and very little additional weight. They're very rare cars that very rarely come up for sale. In my opinion the best examples - like this one- are six figure cars.

Gepetto Perhaps. If you pay $60k then it's worth $60k. But on eBay, it's worth $42,500 - still a heck of a lot (80% more than the BaT GTV-6 that sold with 22k miles, or something like that). I don't want to downplay the rarity or niceness of the Callaway - I just didn't realize it could actually be worth nearly twice as much as a regular GTV6 in excellent condition. (Or as some here have mentioned, up to 4-5 times as much).

Cali67Duetto This is one of 35 cars and arguably the best in the group!? I would quickly pay 50-60k for this car had I the money. This car will only increase in value in the future.
