AROSC Competition Board contacts

Guy--You should talk directly to the AROSC Competition Board about this. Best contact is Tech/Safety Director Paul Ellis, or Time Trial Director Mike Easterman, or Competition Director Terry Watson.

Their emails and phone numbers can be found at the link labeled "Contacts" on the AROSC Competition page:

Soaring4 Norm, never mind I found the page. I have some questions concerning the older 1976 Lancia Scorpion, e.g. I do not think of it as a convertible, rather a huge sun roof, but you may. If so are the structural members forming the top considered sufficient roll protection, or would it require a roll bar. Please remember that this is novice, but on the other hand I have never driven the car on the edge and feel like I do not know the mid/rear car that well - which is why I am taking the course.

No fluid leaks, well maybe an oil drip, but it does have a hole in the rearmost exhaust muffler. I would like that changed, but would it have to be original type, or would something like a magna flow muffler (not a glass pack) be OK?

The car is stock. The belts look like they are due for replacement. Would stock belts be acceptable as replacement, or since I am replacing it sounded like the verbiage implied that it would it have to be 5 or 6 point belts?

I would like some sense of how far to go with this, since time could be an issue in getting ready. On the other hand waiting to get it right is good, but I would like to know before I pay entry fee. Thanks, Guy

Soaring4 Norm, I am new at this and do not understand where to find the entry/sign up for 2/28 school. Please direct me, you may use my standard email if that helps: [email protected]

Hey Jon,

As I'm sort of a neighbor, perhaps I can help. Your closest AROC chapter is the San Diego one, AROCSD. AROCSD is primarily a social organization and they frequently meet in North County. You can check them out at AROCSD.org | Alfa Romeo Owners Club of San Diego.

The other close one is AROSC which is more or less LA. AROSC are also very active when it comes to social event but they also run about 6 to 8 track events each year plus about 3 concours. You can check them out at AROSC Home Page.

I'm actually a happy member of both, something AROC National readily supports.

AntonyR Since this is a message board, I was hoping to post a help needed message. Is there anyone in OC that has a supply of valve shims available? I have my 2.0 cams off and was doing an badly needed adjustment, when I found that there are a few valves that are too far out from any of the few shims I have in my garage. I wanted to go to the meeting tomorrow at the winery but a few shims are standing in my way!

I would like eveyones input on this subject. We will discuss this until Friday April 1st.

Please let as may people as possible know about the enduro. We would like to see quite a few cars out there this year.

Item 2 contains a bit of a typo so I'll try to clarify. At previous endruos, we have had a mandatory pit stop which required a minimum time/stay in the pits. There were penalties for a short stay in the pits. The intent this year is do away with the mandatory pit stop and with it, the minimum time requirement.

Please note that we also had a penalty for fuel spillage and that this will remain in effect.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one he was bugging. I just started ignoring him, and his emails got sparser. Haven't heard from him for a while. Did he just bug Alfa people, or was it Porsche, Ferrari, BMW etc people as well?

Yes, we have no Alfas, but some pretty cool cars. The best one is a factory
Shelby Cobra that Dan Gurney drove at Sebring in '63, and we have a Virgil Exner Concept Car, too.

Check out www.russoandsteele.com You can preview all of the cars there.

I've never seen so many Chevelles in my life! People dig 'em, though.
