Malfa1750 Ahh I see, so it should be "8AlfasaTriumph&aNissan" I can see why you didn't change it!
You got me thinking about my car history which is kind of bracketed by Alfas. My first ever car was a 79 1500 Super Alfasud which was a fantastic, revvy, balanced little gem in dark blue with brown draylon interior.......it leaked through the centre consul which was always a good talking point on a date.....I blew the first engine and had it swapped out for a 1300ti engine with twin Weber' s.....95 bhp in a car which weighed nothing was great fun till it overheated and died. It had rotted out sills and A pillars so sold the car for £10 to a scrappy....sad day.... Next car was a 79 white Chrysler Sunbeam hatchback....took to Scotland and France touring about....solid boring car but had great times in the late 80's . Then an 83 Black Ford XR2, another hot hatch which belonged to a good friend, caught my eye...I had a girlfriend with a place in Devon so spent many trips winding through narrow lanes avoiding cattle and sheep!...81 BMW 3 series; nice car in red....A couple of 79 Lancia Beta 2000 Spiders...great cars which both rotted out.....A 90 Nissan 200SX which I wish I'd kept .....the 1.8 turbo engine was fantastic......a 99 Mitsubishi Galant 2.5 v6.....beautiful car in silver which I traded in on a 2002 Mitsy Shogun SUV in 2012 which I'll never sell, just had it repainted as bonnet and front wings were badly stone chipped......then in 2016 my eye was caught by an ad for an 85 red series 3 spider which had rotten sills....I'd always wanted an Alfa spider but never quite got round to it....the pictures showed that the owner had begun the restoration so you could see the middle sills....I showed the pictures to the body shop I use at work and they said they'd do the work, so I was hooked again.....three years of buying bits and noticing rust later and I saw a red series 1 1750 Spider project and couldn't resist....so now I own two Alfas..... the series 3 is going well..... I've been on three road trips in her this Summer. The Series 1 is still in surgery.....I'm collecting parts and leaking money at the moment.....looking forward to getting her back on the road......I find it's a strange, imagined, friendship with a car......we impart them with life and names and they give us back freedom, fun and nightmares! For me, driving a modern car is travel......driving a classic is a trip.

6alfas That's an old moniker now.
1969 Berlina, two tone, rust and green, perfect interior including an un-cracked dash that I picked up in trade for a bicycle. Ran like a top. Sold it to my friends girlfriend.
1969 Roundtail, went to Washington State and supposedly fully restored back in the late 1980's
1969 Berlina, red, smooth runner, no idea what happened to it. Traded it for a 1964 Triumph TR4.
1969 Spider, red, sold it to a student at BYU back in the 1980's
1976 Alfetta GT, really miss this one as it was such a great car, traded it in on a GTV6
1985 GTV6, white, wonderful car, drove it all over the Western US, traded it in on a new 1988 Nissan Pathfinder after moving to Denver
1959 Giulietta Sprint Normale, sold locally, ended up on BAT a few years ago with a good result for the seller

Anfanuts The 69 and earlier has either a rubber or spring "clamp" that held the rolled tool roll on the left-hand side on the trunk deckeck behind the fuel filler. Dunno when they went from the rubber band (usually crumbled and gone) to the cased spring. It was obvious why.

I think the tester was being super fussy, (they seem to hate not finding something!), I've heared that thess boxes can be tricky to get right but I will get it looked at if I feel any play when it's back on the road.
