For whatever reason, when I first planned this Google maps showed the mileage as 1444 miles each way, but when I got in the car both the iPhone map app and the Garmin showed 1700 miles. So as strapped for time as I was, I just lost another 7-8 hours of sleep/time.
Left here Thursday AM, arrived late Friday. Spent about 4 hours on site Saturday AM. See attached picture, didn't even think to snap a pic until the car in the middle (Super) was loaded. Got the Super, one 1750 with transmission, one 2000 with transmission (those are heavy to move with only a dolly and no hoist!), one extra transmission, a couple of TS heads (one bolted to a block), a couple of V6 heads, one 5:12 rear end, and a bunch of various tools and parts. What's left is to ship the Verde and Berlina (had to swap wheels on the Berlina to something with air in them).
Left Austin around 12:30 ish, drove straight through to arrive back Sunday night. I'd have loved to have spent more time there and met up with some folks, it just wasn't in the cards.

Unfortunately, work schedule doesn't allow for that. I'll be leaving from CA Thursday AM, arriving late Friday (I hope), and looking for a quick turnaround. Hoping to be back in CA Sunday night.
But if anybody at the Club dinner wants to put out the word..

Bill Theobald is there, ([email protected]) he`s a nice guy, Alfa enthusiast, and the only detracting fault is he`s an Engineer.
I`ll PM you a cell # for him.

|DPeterson3||If you scheduled to arrive on Thursday, there’s an Alfa club that gets together for dinner. You show up, buy some beers, and brag about the quality of the chicken fried steak, you’ll get some help.|

If anybody needs a car moved from the Bay area to Texas, I will be driving with an empty trailer..

Anybody in Austin Texas?
Anybody in or near Austin Texas? I'm buying 3 Alfas there, along with a bunch of tools and parts. The problem is, I'm in California..
I'm going to be driving to Austin later this week, the plan is to load up the parts, tools, and one car, then make sure the other two cars roll so I can have them transported.
If anybody is in Austin, and wants a 'free' breakfast this coming Saturday, let me know. I'm hoping to arrive late Friday night, get everything sorted and loaded Saturday AM, then be on my way by noon ish.
I'm sure I could use a hand. There's also a chance that not everything will fit in my truck and trailer, in which case there will be some freebies. No promises, obviously, and since I don't have an inventory of what's there then I don't know what might be available. But you never know..
The cars are a Berlina, a Milano Verde, and a Super, the parts are most likely 105/115 stuff.
As a complete aside, Jim Tyson, if you're reading this, this is the same Verde I bought from you so many years ago in Austin and drove to Boston. Yes, it found it's way back to Austin again, now I'm buying it again and heading the other way!
