I see theres at least a dozen 166's on tm at present-what do you think retail is for the $1 reserve car being sold with 128kms up?
On TM there have been 2 nz new ones that have sold quite quickly in last month with under 100kms with buy knows of $8 and $8.5.

Hi Haden

Are you referring to the $300 silver Alfa 6 that was on TM over the weekend? No I didn't, it was bought by a buyer round Hamilton I think- who had bought a 90 earlier in the year that was on TMe, so I might try and contact them next time they list an item and see what they have done with the 90..as I am after spare parts for my 90.

The 6 looked tempting thoughand if I hadn't just bought the Thema I might have gievn it a punt - athough it was in Welly which means transport would have at least doubed the price and then I would assume it would need to be re-vinned etc..... Did you see the fist sized-rust holes in the sills!!!!!

As for Alfa 166s, yes they do look nice don't they, I take it you are "2.316"on TMe..hope you get it...I love the comment by "nzmarkj" complaining that they are selling the 166 too cheaply A similar one is on there at http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-166669435.htm

Best of luck with the 166

Aaron

sorry it was the Alfa six I was referring to, mixed it up with the 90-I thought at $300 for parts it was good buying.

Have been after a nz 166 for a while-had someone take a look at that car last week-its not bad if you like black + white leather-so I'll give it a crack and see where i get.
Inch McLellan European are listing their car at $15kodd-its probally worth that given 1 owner and 60kms with full service (incl belt change) but still a little rich for me.
Cheers

Yeah, it went very fast really [the 6] on for only one day, the 6 is quite different apart from the engine, so you'd need another 6 to make it worthwhile - front gearbox etc... The only other two I know of in NZ are both a 1km away from me in a long-time AROC member's hands here in Aucks, so I can only think he was buying it [the 6] for the engine, which in that one I suspect is the EFI model, not the earlier 6 x dell'orto carb'd version, but you never know.

Know what you mean about the light interior of the 166, BUT for under 10k SEEMS a good buy. A comparable model at CCS up here is listed at 14k asking - its silver with black leather - and I really would love to trade the Gti6 on something like that when $$$ allow

Wouldn't think so. He is trying to buy the internal door handles that always break and the heating system off the 2.5V6 75 in Taranaki on TMe, so I would hazard a guess that the heating system has failed on the 1.8 which could have led to a multitude of other other issues on the car..... as well as the slipping clutch and rust.

The guy selling the stuff off the 2.5 is quite good to deal with and not a rip-off merchant- I got a new badge and am about to get a new coolant reservoir/cap as backup.

I bought the drivers side door handle of the guy in taranaki , he didn't relise that it had broke so he refunded the part as well as sending it up - what a guy !

Gutted that I didn't see the 6 on trademe - I would have bought it just for the badass carbie setup

He probably took it off to get it fixed and then will re-list it. Strange though that TME withdrew as it as when I have withdrawn a car for sale it usually reads"withrawn by seller". Anyway $1000 is a fair bit to add to the price of a 1.8 75 in a month given it still had a dodgy clutch etc...

166

thks for that.

I pulled the plug at $7k on the TM one last week-I think it went for $7900 which I think is still pretty good buying for a 2 owner, 128k NZ car.
That sale prompted Archibald Barr Motor Company here in town to drop there 178k nz new car to $7990 its had 5 owners but based on above should really be mid $6k. In December they wanted $13k for it!

I'll stay on the fence and see what happens to this new one.
Cheers Haden
