HSR Mitty at Road Atlanta, April 26-28

There should be a wide variety of Alfas at The Mitty later this month. My buddy Ward Witkowski, Atlanta, will bring his 'new' GTV - an ex Wes Ingram race car. Richard Jemison, Pensacola, FL, will also be there with a pair of racing Alfa Spiders. I'll bring my 1962 Giulia Spider as well. My friend Rich Hanning will help crew for me.

We welcome you to the second 2019 event for HSR. I have a pair of extra ' crew' tickets for anyone that wants to attend.

Steven Piantieri
Orlando, FL

I can race leaky old cars and run a pair of businesses but I can't edit my photos so they are right-side-up. I welcome someone's help to do so. THX.

Hmmm

It looks like our cars are hanging over a lake.

Very much looking forward to the Mitty and lending a hand. Alfas defy gravity? I have the same problem posting pictures with my Android phone. There is a thread in the support forum discussing this problem on iPhones. Slightly cropping a picture on the phone prior to posting is reported to solve the problem.

The Alfa race was won by sometime ABB member Mark Brummond of Charlotte in his GTV6. He lapped the orange/white GTV6.

Mitty

Well, the Mitty is always difficult for the Racers. Just about money for HSR. Too many vegetables for 1 meal. It`s a profit thing.

Oh well, as it was an Alfa thing I went. Test day my WB O2 meter indicated AFR`s in the 12`s on the back straight. So I changed MJ`s from 200s to 190s.
In the Sasco International race on Friday I burned a hole in the #3 piston. When Ed (alfaparticle) noticed that the WB O2 meter was showing 21 at idle he pointed out that that was a signal that the O2 sensor was cooked. (leaded fuel).

Oh well... I picked up the Hayes Flynn`s DBU Steck motor which provides spare pistons, liners crank etc as it`s the same internals I use.

Below is a pic of the Duetto gridded in front of the Triumph of some legendary Triumph racer. Can`t recall this name.... Oh well, age I suppose. Perhaps he finished, I just created work to do...

I`m going to post some pics of the flag girls during the display session before the all Alfa race. My flag princess was the cutest.
Only two homely ones at the grid. Oh, not the girls, just Steve Pianteri, and Tom Turner.........!

what a great weekend! particularly coming from Michigan - the sunny Georgia weather was a nice change. and thanks to Richard for having a spare starter @ the track (!). I didn't get many pics, but here's a few. It was fun seeing one of our "old" race cars from work there (CTS-V.R). Guess that makes this trip a business expense?!

Did any C33s with flat 12s make it? My shop and residence is literally 5 minutes from Road Atlanta so I listened to the event much of the day but no one confirmed any of the heavy-hitting stuff was there so I didn't go. At least the weather was nice
