Neat! I will be eager to track their progress. My only worry with an Alfa in an event like this is that I imagine Alfa parts are effectively impossible to find in central Asia. To that end, somewhat surprised they stuck with the SPICA.

A friend of mine entered a car for the 2010 Peking to Paris, there was a beautiful Alfa that year. Not sure if I'm correct but I think it was the 1940 6c 2500 SS MM, and I think it won it's class.

Heck, any kind of parts are probably impossible to find in central Asia. I suspect you need to use "blacksmith technology" to keep the cars going.

"Blacksmith technology"😆. Only to a point.
Most people carry as many spare parts as then can to keep the cars running until rest day. On rest days Contestance were chartering their own planes in to fly the car out have repairs done then fly them back. The amount of money involved in this challenge is ridiculous.

Nautical Spider!

Spiders can’t swim.
I believe it was going a few days later!

My nephew did the Mongol Rally a couple of years ago...he knows only too well that a mongolian 'puddle' can turn out to be a surprise to say the least

There are 3 alfas in the rally this year, a Giulia, a Giulia Super and the spider which is car 76 (Matteo & Roberto Crippa)
live tracking shows they are still going and reached Kasan today

My friend is doing quite well in his grey 1961 Volvo PV544

made it

it takes a lot more than a 3 foot deep mongolian 'puddle' to drown a spider......!

Well done chaps, arrived in Paris. Enjoy the afterparty!
