Yes - looks pretty interesting. I'm going to try to go to a few races and renew some competition writing for Alfa Owner. I've arranged to go to their shop in February when I'm in S Florida. They are looking forward to some support from Alfisti.

Thanks for putting this up, George. I meant to and kept forgetting...sigh.

Exclamation

Great news indeed!

These must be the two cars that competed in a few rounds of the Pirelli World Challenge last year.

From Autoweek. Pretty much the same article in Racer:
https://autoweek.com/article/imsa/km...ilot-challenge

Here is the 2019 schedule I found here:
https://www.imsa.com/news/082018/ims...o-classes-2019

All series races will be televised on a tape-delayed basis on NBCSN as part of IMSAís new, six-year television partnership with NBC Sports.

The 10-race 2019 schedule takes the series to all of the same top-tier venues it visited in 2018, with eight, two-hour races on the schedule to go with two, four-hour endurance events.

The season kicks off with the first four-hour race at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, Jan. 25 as part of the Rolex 24 At Daytona event weekend before moving to Sebring International Raceway for a two-hour race on Friday, March 15.

From there, itís on to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the second consecutive year for another two-hour race on Saturday, May 4. Next up is the second and final four-hour race of the season at Watkins Glen International on Saturday, June 29.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park closes out the first half of the season on Saturday, July 6 before the series makes its way to Lime Rock Park on Saturday, July 20.
The series makes its annual trek to Wisconsin for the two-hour battle at Road America on Saturday, Aug. 3, followed by VIRginia International Raceway on Saturday, Aug. 24.

The Michelin Pilot Challenge makes its lone west coast appearance in the penultimate round of the season at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday, Sept. 14 and closes out the year at Road Atlanta as part of the Motul Petit Le Mans event weekend on Friday, Oct. 11.

In addition to tape-delayed coverage on NBCSN, every race again will be streamed live on IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app.

This deserves AROC support

This deserves a little work to have a good showing of Alfas at each of the IMSA events. It may be a little difficult as these Michelin races are support races on Friday. The showing at COTA for the F1 race was pretty cool.
Mike, in Feb see if they have $$ in their budget for promotions. We may be able to get some stickers or a free bottle of water for every Alfa that shows up. A group photo with Alfisti in the KMW Motorsports paddock at each race would be neat. Sort of a "Flat Stanley" or "Where's Waldo".
The Palm Springs AROC Retreat may be a good place to start a discussion about this.
I will pitch it so some So Cal people who will be there.
I know the Laguna Seca event would get a bunch of people to show up. Heck we, AROSC, got 23 Alfas on the track at our Time Trial last year and about that many showed up just to spectate.
Here is a pic of 16 I corralled for the "group photo".

Great posts, Paul. I will definitely talk to the KMW folks about establishing a relationship between the team and us, their supporters. It's really great to see Alfas back racing in a national series. I've put several of the eastern races on my calendar and am going to try to get to at least a couple of them - VIR and Petit for sure and maybe either Lime Rock or the Glen.

I hope to give them coverage in the Owner - having the races shown on TV makes that easy. Guess I had better get with Elyse Barrett to make sure that's in the plan for the magazine.

photos for Alfabb

OK, here's my genius idea for today:
Take photos of both Giiulettas at each race and post them to alfabb.
It looks like mthomasd2911 and nickypp will be there. But this means you need to be in the pits the day of the race, Friday this time, to get your pic.
(there is another thread started by mthomas2911 about Daytona so I will cross post there.)
I got a "cool" reception from Elyse B, Alfa Owner person and also my chapter's newsletter, Alfacionada, co-editor. I hope she remembers to mention this Alfa racing deal this weekend in Palm Springs at the AROC Retreat.
I think a spread on alfabb would be a good place to document the team.
