Right, typo transposition. Got if fixed. It looks well done but pretty modified.

Hi Robin, I think you mean Anfanuts list... but yes, it will be interesting to follow this
(awfully) modified car..
I do know there was a Buddhist monk in Japan who owned an SZ with many modifications including a set of 18'' wheels with gold centres.. perhaps this is the same one.

Out of curiosity what causes people to not share info with a registry?

I have no idea what's in the hearts and minds of folks for being so occult. Most of the US owners of SZ's that I know are not Alfa owners. And I mean everyday Alfas, not rare collectors items. One has one because he collects Zagatos. Most are wealthier and car Collectors with a capital "C". Enthusiasts at a different level than the thousands of us proletariat Alfisti. Some are just adamant about privacy and Ed scrupulously honors that as does Marco at EC but I have asked Marco to inform customers of the SZ register. I've also noticed an aversion to working with and sharing info on parts or tech tips as with and via the ABB. Not bad or good, just different focus. I'm a dire hard 105 Alfisti since 1975, my first, and still have that car. The SZ addition is driven regularly here and taken to many events. Cheers, B

#401 above on BAT did not meet reserve at $50,500. Some past sales went to $65k+/- so this is not unexpected. The mods looked tasteful and functional and were reversible if originality was an issue. The commenters this time around seemed more positive than the past on BAT. I just have to say, I've driven a nice low-miles Milano Verde and my SZ and there is NO comparison. The only negative I have is an awkward entry/exit and driving position for a taller person. But it seems that EuroClassix has glutted their (and future sellers) market. They deny this but . . . . One very nice SZ, #18, changed hands from the Petrolicous article writer in NY but the sale was private.

The seat height was a problem for me too so I removed the seat subframe and bolted
the seat to the floor. Luckily the bolts in the seats perfectly matched the captive nuts
in the chassis so no drilling or modifications where necessary. It lowered the seat about
2.5'' and gives a perfect driving position. You do lose the seat forward and backwards adjustment but as others are not allowed to drive my car it's perfect for me...

The SZ is an awesome car. One of the best handling Alfas made. It's looks are quirky like an English bulldog, so funny looking that it is beautiful.

Thank you for the links, I missed the Zagato article on Jalopnik. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet on this thread, but just in case Davide Cironi has a great review of an SZ on his youtube channel.

I put a link in to that several pages above. His review on the 75 Evo is good too. And the recent comparison of the transaxle models with a cameo by the SZ.

SZ #550

Took the SZ to a 80's/90's car show, RADwood Austin. Very popular with the tuners. One guy asked, "How could a car like that have been made?"

Had a professional detail with the Modesta line of paint protection products. Looks like candy. Some eye candy here.

It seems like there are about 20 known in the US now on the official register LINK. I hear that a west coast dealer still has some from Japan squirreled away waiting to ply the market he glutted.

If anyone is interested I have a spare front bumper unit for the SZ and the mould for making them.
