anyone know the model name/number for our Verde Recaro seats?

They must have a model or style name associated with them..

I know the fabric is called Black Monza.

The seats are called LS-C (LS being the large upper bolster, C being the lower bolster/thigh style).

Only the centers use black monza fabric on the Verde (as do some other vehicles). The bolsters and headrests and backing are made of black avus cloth. There are also several other monza color versions (blue, tan, olive, etc.).

I wonder if you could buy the Black Monza fabric in order to repair my 1988 Verde seats?

The Monza fabric has been unavailable for many years new. You might be able to find some dead stock somewhere if you search carefully. Otherwise, find something else that suits your taste.

I seem to remember Joe at Centerline was having some fabric made or imported some time ago. Sorry, can't remember... Check in with him.

I spoke to Centerline Alfa and they are thinking about having the cloth produced. The cloth has been out of stock for many years.

The original fabric is in fact a lot darker than what is on most cars - UV does fade this material like any other. It can be shocking compared to used seats. I have a set of NOS covers (the full covers with the Black Avus outer material and the 2-tone Black Monza inner material) and they are a fairly dark grey. The attached image was scanned from '88 Verde factory brochure and I think the color is fairly accurate. Still, there can be some variation from dye lot to dye lot and you might have gotten some particularly dark material.

For all those that have inquired we are STILL fighting to have this material manufactured. There have been a lot of false starts, lies, time wasters, and a lot of $$$ spent so far without a result but we are keeping after it in hopes that soon we will have a quality reproduction.
