Well, although I've built a few Fiat engines, it was many years ago so the details are a bit sketchy. The intermediate shaft (fuelpump drive) comes to mind though. If not installed correctly, the shaft lobe will hit the crank. Please give a call if you'd like and we'll chat.

    Hi Jim,

I will absolutely refuse any monetary compensation.
But there is one thing you can do; pass the kindness afforded you on to someone else.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

    Thanks for the kind words!
For a regular oil change, the engine will take about 7 quarts. A fresh rebuilt engine will take a bit more, about 7.8 quarts. Keep in mind that the distance between MIN & MAX on the dipstick is about 2 quarts.
Tires pressures can vary depending on a number factors like tire brand, suspension setup, and personal preference. I usually start at 32 PSI all around and adjust, if necessary, from there.
Could you please have Jim email me a picture of the plug removed from the head? I want to be sure that I send the right one. Thanks!

    Jim

    For the life of me I don't recall what model & year Alfa you have. However, Alfa used the same wire colors for certain devices for many years. Off the top of my head, some of them are;
    Engine Right Side
white - to Spica pump microswitch
white - from microswitch to fuel cutoff solenoid
black - to starter solenoid spade connector. black pigtail to cold start solenoid
    brown - coolant temp sensor
red/black - oil pressure gauge sensor
    white/blue - fuel pressure sensor
    green/black - ignition coil positive
don't know what the in-line fuse holder is for but if the coil is equipped with a ballast resistor, it gets a green wire
    Engine Left Side
gray - low oil pressure light switch
black, brown & green - alternator
That's all can think of for now.
