Hi there rbsloan11. I recently discovered your posts in regards to the restoration of your Sprint Speciale. Really, beautiful work!!
The reason for my note is that I'm about to commence doing upholstery work on another '61 SS and I have absolutely zero original materials to work with in terms of patterning, construction, or the like. While much of this I'm confident I can address just by looking at tons of photos, one area I've been struggling to get really detailed images is in regards to the door panel construction. I wondered if you might perhaps have your original panels that I could look at some photos of, or perhaps even some photos of your new panels prior to assembly? I also have a couple of other specific questions, but perhaps a first good step is just to see if you'd be amenable to providing some guidance. Sincerely yours.
Have you had a chance to check on the heart yet. Sorry to be a pita, but my bodyshop was asking as they want to "adjust" the grille opening so that everything properly fits.
Thanks again- I owe ya!
I've been following your restoration process and am also quite impressed. I purchased a 61 SS and am in the process of bringing it back as well. It is currently at the soda boasters, then on to the painter.
I believe you said you bought a replacement heart, but couldn't use it as it wouldn't fit your car. Would you consider selling it on to me? Im at the point where the bodywork can be adjusted to the grille.please let me know. I'm in the Chicago area and can be reached at my cell 847 373 2129. Thanks and continued good luck!
