Hey. Thanks for your to the point answers on the BB.
As a moderator on a Jeep forum I appreciate that.

    actual experience is important.

That said, I need some advice.

I have a 78 Spider with 40 DCOE Weber, header, 10:1 compression, freeflow exhaust, oversize intake valves, 14 pound flywheel. I built a 1979 Spider years ago with my brother user459.

My adjustable front control arms will be here tomorrow. Planning on as much caster as possible and .5* negative camber per side.

This brings me to poly bushings throughout the rear. Mine aren't really bad, I just want more predictability and pointability on corners. Should I bother, or will I regret the harshness I hear about on the BB?

    Thanks, Pete

A friend of mine in Southern California is thinking about buying his wife a later-model Spider.

    Not a big budget.

Which model should be be looking at?

    Thanks,

    Bob

    Hi Alfaparticle,

I have been reading your thread on your 2L engine on the dyno and just wanted to check, when you were running the 40 webers, making 169HP @ 6200 rpm, you specified you were running 34mm venturis. What about the choke size ? Were they also 34mm ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Cheers,

    Rob.

Sir, My name is Jeff Klein and I live over in Aiken, SC. I was hoping you might be able to recommend a good machine shop in the area for block and head work. I am rebuilding a 79 Fiat Spider and since it is so similar to Alfas thought you might know of a good shop for Italian small bore stuff?

    Ed,

I may have a spare (untested) ECU from my Milano ownership days, will check when I get home. If so I'll offer it to you for very cheap.

Didn't we do musical instrument business some years ago? I do woodwind work (instrument repairs/restos/mods) and mouthpiece refacing; may have bought some stuff from you on eBay. Can't remember the details.

    Cheers,

I see you own a 79 Spider. I acquired one a few months ago and I am sorting some small issues. Would it be too much trouble to look at the picture on my post regarding windshield washer system. I'm trying to figure out what the femAle plug is for to the left of he washer fluid tank. There was no motor atta he'd to my tank when I got it. And there is conflicting info in the owners manual and wiring diagrams. I don't know if it ever had one I do know that whe n I push the floor button there is little travel and the wipers sweep.

    Hi Andy,
I was looking at the suspension item you commented on in the Forum.
Could you pass on the telephone or email of Andy at Performatek. I am interested in doing some Poly on the back of my Graduate.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there
I have stumbled over old posts from you where you mentioned Weber Carbs by John Passini (Vol 1) I have Vol 2 and have been trying to find Vol 1.

On this side of the world no luck on Vol 1

Ed - Thanks for the picture today of your spider. Wow it looks great in Euro style. What are those rims, please? I like them. My 74 came with Cromodoras, which are nice, but very common. Thanks - Dickson

Hi Ed - always like your posts . wondering how your spark plugs look . we have 4 2l Alfas , plugs always look too dark . leaner idle or main jets lead to stumble ( 50 f14 , 135 mains seems best ) tried n9y , bp6es , bp7es & some platinum bosch , but all come out dark . highway mileage is 24 or 25 . Hotter heat range maybe ? 10 to 1 comp , 10548 cams in everything - good power band(torque for street ) Thanks , Roy

    Hi there;
i found your posts (old ones) on using an MSD6al. I've just acquired one for my 86' spider(bosch distributor). Any help you could offer me in terms of how to install, what to do/or not to do, would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks

wow! that would be awesome if you had an extra stud. I am going (with optimism) to a fastener store here, who may be able to help, but most likely not. I will reply later(after work) and we shall see. Thank you in advance for your kind gesture.
