It's time to start planning for the best Italian only car show in north Texas - ItalianCarFest. The Italian Car Club of the Southwest has been working these last few months with the city of Grapevine on the show. The club has a new president, Randy Bush and he posted an announcement in FerrariChat with the details. Here is his post.
"I have the great pleasure to announce that ItalianCarFest 2015 will be held on 12 September at Nash Farm in Grapevine, Texas! The theme for this year's show is "Alfa Romeo's Return to the USA". We plan to have a fantastic display of Alfa vehicles and memorabilia on hand. Boardwalk Ferrari Maserati of Plano is the Presenting Sponsor once again and we're very happy to have them on board. The classes will be similar to last year, encompassing Italian cars and Italian motorcycles and scooters. The Italian Connection class is always a favorite, comprised of non-Italian makes that contain Italian coachwork or mechanicals. Registration is now open, so please visit the ICF website at ItalianCarFest for all the details. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]. Itís worth the trip and we look forward to seeing all of you at the show!
Chairman, ICF 2015
Alfa Romeo will feature prominently in the show and it would be great if we had a good turnout from the chapter. So, wash and polish up the Alfa and come join us for a wonderful celebration.
I'm in. I just registered the 164. The car is currently running well, but to speak of this is to tempt fate. So no more will be said about that. Come out to show, or just to visit. It is a special day and we are trying to get some 4C's and hopefully an 8C to attend. Your Alfa will be in good company.
Bump and a reminder. Alfa Romeo is the featured marque and it would be great to have a good turnout. Show is in about 3+ weeks and there is still time to get registered. We will not be taking walk in entries as we print out in advance names and lanyards for everyone who enters the show. Please come join us even if you cannot show a car and say hello to me, Richard Cross and other Alfa owners.
Registration is now closed and we have a little over 70 vehicles signed up. So, if you are in, great. If not, please come out and say hello to the chapter members and enjoy the fellowship of like minded Alfa owners.
The show was a success and the cooler weather was a welcomed blessing. We had 23 Alfa's registered and it looked like all showed up. The variety and quality of the cars was amazing. A big thanks to everyone who participated and also those who showed up to admire and talk Alfas. Also, thanks to those who took the time to stop by and visit with me. That was one of my personal highlights.
Richard says there is a club event planned for sometime in October so let's see if we can get some good participation on that.
