Are Junior Z windshields available?

Gang,

Thought I put it out here and inquire if there are still decent Junior Z windshields available? I think they got reproduced a few years back.

Leads to the best/ fastest resources? Assume there is no difference between 1300 and 1600? Are there any fit issues to be aware off? Plan is a simple windshield swap to get rid of one with wiper marks.

Thanks,

Mike

Prosource in Mass. has Alfa windshields (for Supers anyway) so you might try them. Also, you "might" be able to polish the wiper marks out. I think there are some new products available that can do a better job of getting rid of windshield scratches.

Hi Mike:

You might talk with Richard Tankel at ProSource Glass. See: https://www.prosourceglassintl.com/history.html

He probably doesn't stock windshields for something as obscure as a Junior Z, but he might have some ideas for sources.

[ looks like 180OUT and I are thinking along the same lines! ]

I bought a kit from Eastwood and tried getting the wiper scratches out of my Giulia Spider's windshield. Didn't have much success. Dunno if there are professionals out there who might have more heavy-duty tools for polishing glass. Would worry that the resulting glass might look better from the outside, but be off optically from the driver's perspective.

AFRA lists the front windshields here and OKP here, but I would also check with Pilkington Classics at 1-800-848-1351 and Antti Wihanto of SICURVETRO. If anybody made them recently, it would be one of these two companies.

Awesome - thanks for all the pointers.

And yes, I have a really great glass guy. We are taking the windshield out to do a new headliner (I know you can do with it in place but my superb interior guy recommended to take the glass out for the best fit).

By the way, are there better headliner repros available now? The ones that were a few months ago are terrible when it comes to the material. We are trying to get a "as close as possible" fabric (It is very grainy black material ...) and then create the stitch lines that the original has every 10cm.

My glass guy will have a look but me thinks that the scratches are likely too deep and the curvature might not allow for the pressure they would need to be removed.

Will check the resources and thanks again.

Try Donnatela at Elvezio.com. (You'll have to check the spelling on this.) They may have better headlining material.

Dan A says you can get them from Europe, maybe Sweden.
I bought a variety of glass from ProSource last year and he didn't have Junior Z. Has Super, GTV, Giulietta, the more common ones.

For the headliner material, I would talk to Matt Jones at reoriginals.com (maybe even ask for a sample first -- he's pretty good at that!).

I worked with Antti Wihanto of SICURVETRO.
Freight is a killer, so I ordered a full box (5 or 6) for all sorts of cars and they fit very well.
If you don't do a 'group buy' be prepared to pay $$$

Craig Morningstar put together a 10-glass order from Sweden some years ago, I got a Super windshield as part of it. Combined shipping was reasonable.

Hi Mike,

I need one too. I recently asked Mr. Fiat and they say they have them in the country. Sending it to So.Cal. might not be that bad. I was hoping to find out what the manufacturer is, usually they get parts out of Italy. One of us should follow. If they check out I'd get one and we can split the shipping.

How much does Mr. Fiat charge per unit, no shipping?

I am interested in a spare if someone puts a deal together. I did a two-crate ProSource deal, which was a lot of work. So in this case I'm happy to be a follower but not a leader. Mine can go with Dan's in terms of shipping/delivery.
