Do you have the outer half of the crank shaft pulley (and the associated shims)? To install the belt you need to remove the outer pulley part then hold everything in position and re-install the allen head screws. Add a shim to tighten, remove to loosen. Start with one shim (put the unused ones on the outside of the outer pulley half) and hope it is right.

You can bump the belt on with a big long screwdriver.

Disconnect the coil and have someone bump the engine over while holding the belt on the pulley.

looked like i would have to remove the radiator - worth a try and hopefully no finger damage - not sure it will work even after getting the belt on but cheaper than a conversion to the new gas? Is it worth it for a full conversion?

Use a big long screwdriver to hold the belt. Don't even think of having your hand down there when you have the engine bumped over.

Put the belt completely on the a/c pulley and bump it onto the crank pulley.
