A/C delete question

I will be removing the non-working A/C from the '86 Spider. I was wondering if there is a way to get air to the face vents in the das if this is removed. Do the european models without A/C have a different ducting system? Thanks

The spiders without a/c have ovals holes in the cowl chamber. I don't think there is really any way to get in there to cut the holes to turn the side vents into fresh air vents.

Once Alfa started offering factory installed a/c. They quit putting the holes in all the cars that were made. Before that all the bodies had the holes and the a/c kits came with a rubber plug to block the hole off.

If you are going to attempt to cut them. You will have to pull the cowl panel and the dash out. The intake tubes should be fairly easy to come up with as every spider from 71 to 82 had them. Unless a/c had been installed.

Is there a good thread (or other source) with photos or diagrams showing the standard ducting arrangement on a non-A/C original series-2 Spider? I have removed an old dealer-installed A/C system from my '79 spider, and I'm not sure what/how/where to route the ducts, or if I even have the needed parts...

Call APE and get

2 fresh air ducts and the clip that helps hold it in place
2 fresh air vents for the dash.

That all you need.
