Converting R12 to R134

I just did the conversion in my 90' S3 Spider. I've read multiple posts that the R134 wasn't cold enough. My experience is the opposite. The R134 blows cold! It's a tiny cockpit, doesn't take much to cool it down. Happy I did the conversion, thanks to Giuseppe at Alfa Import Center, NY.

Your Alfa was in good hands... and if everything's in good working order, there's nothing lacking with R134. You make a good point-- it's a small interior space.

Giuseppe at the Alfa Import Center just did my conversion today as well.

The air conditioning is now working great!

Extremely cold.

Would you mind outlining what they did / what was involved in the conversion.

Ciao tutti

I purchased the R134A conversion kit.

It looks something similar to this:

Mechanic basically just installed it and then recharged the unit and tested to see if the AC was holding without leaking and it passed that test.

Hopefully it will remain cold for many years to come.
