Should I fabricate a heat shield?

With the Sanden installed, the header is wicked close to the suction fitting. I realize the heat won't affect the consistency of the refrigerant at this point, but I'm worried about hose and compressor integrity. Did the MIlano/75 come with some sort of heat shield?
