Alright, finally the system is fully working. I ended up paying a vintage car wiring guru to rewire the blower fan completely. Now I've had it out twice in 95+ here in CO and it's done really well. Engine temperature 175-185 and air conditioning cold even in traffic. Our humidity is about 10-15% though which helps for sure. At what point I had to turn it down while cruising down the highway because I was getting cold. The though ran through my mind "what Alfa owner has ever said THAT?" Needless to say it's a lot better than the 164S stock system that I have. I used the stock condenser because that came in the setup I bought on the bb last year. Unfortunately, the evaporator box has a leak in it that results in no A/C about every 3-4wks. The system is so tiny though that it will be years and years of recharging with cans before it costs me as much as taking the evaporator out and fixing it would. Just add it to the Alfa gas station routine:
1) fill gas
2) fill oil
3) fill R-134
Who knew most people were not getting the most out of their gas stops!
