Yank in Spain...

Hi all!

I'm an American living in Spain, and driving a 1982 GTV 2.0. The car is clean and rust free, with good paint and interior, but had been raced in the past (and then kinda stripped of all its good bits), so I'm about finished with the "putting it all right" stage. Engine freshly rebuilt, new (stock) springs, clutch, brakes, master cylinder, guibos, etc. etc. Thanks in advance for the millions of questions I will probably ask before I get it "finished."

First, though, I'm in need of wheels! The car was wearing steel wheels when I got it, but they are rusted and bent, and I think the seller just threw them on when he took off his race wheels, because the lug studs were like 8cm too long when I got the car. I'd love a set of Campys from this car or a GTV/6, but anything period appropriate and with the correct offset would be considered. Do Momo Vega replicas fit on these cars? Do Lancia Integrale wheels fit on this car?

I'm in Javea, so if anyone is in the area, look me up.

Thanks and hello to all!
- Paul

I suggest your contact ItalClassic in Alicante. They'll most likely have wheels for your car. Talk to Ben or John.

I gave Ben a ring, but he doesn't have anything. In fact, he says he has a similar car and is looking for wheels, too! lol

Poking around on the interwebs I found a set of Ronal R10 replicas out of Poland. They are cheap enough to where I am leaning toward giving them a shot. If they don't work out, I'll make a coffee table out of them.

Okay, actually I found REAL Ronal R10's in Spain, brand new, at an astonishingly good price. Assuming I didn't just give my credit card number to a Russian crime ring, I'll keep you all posted on how they work when they arrive.

Crikey. It's been a long time coming, but I finally got my Alfetta on the road. Briefly. Turns out it needs more fettling, but it was a wonderful 45 minutes while it lasted. I snapped some photos while I waited in the rain for the flatbed to arrive...

More soon.

Gorgeous. It is interesting to notice the differences between this and the USA's version of the GTV6. I wonder why we didn't continue to get the Alfetta with the 4 cylinder it would have been a nice lower cost option to the GTV6.

Thank you Francisco! I will almost certainly take you up on that...

I have a small classic car dealership here in Denia. Mostly old Land Rovers and such, but some Delta Integrales and Fulvias and old Autobianchis and such, too. If you ever get down this way, please stop in. I have good coffee and vintage stereo equipment, so we can hang out and talk cars.
