Daytona 1966

Here are two photos from my collection both were taken at Daytona in 1966.
I do not know much more about the car or driver.

You are correct! I did some research and found it is a Sprint entered in the 1600 Touring class. It finished 25th with Ben Scott/Peter Flanagan/Roger Chastain.

Hi Kris do you remember when and where you took or got this picture of 752540 up in post #24 above in 2007 and did you take other pics of it?

There is a current thread running re 752540.

Ciao

Ken

Hey Kris, great if you could find the other pics and post in the other newer thread. The Seller being Grand Prix Classics, was it?? Your Registry indicated owner Mazzutto (sp)?

Looks like it is turning out to be one of the less understood RHD Trans Am GTAs from 1966. So maybe when you saw it it was really a lightly gone over ex racer with legit history??

Ciao

Ken

Dear GTAJ,

The GTA in Group 4 specification is also mentioned in "Alleggerita" as chassisnumber #613.342 whereas the GTAm is chassisnumber #1530834.

that looks like la jolla (san diego) to me. that dealership start with only one car back in the 80's. the guy that owns the place is a fantastic gta racer himself. the place is located right next to symbolic.

cheers

You are correct. I went with Adriensens to see the car when I visited him at his home in Belgium shortly after he published the GTA book. I subsequently wound up with the photos and materials he had gathered for the book.

Tow hooks/rings

Hello GTA People,
I was wondering if anyone knew where to get these tow hooks/rings for the front of the car. I have seen them on many GTA's but have never seen one in any cataloges.
Thanks,
MKEane

I think that is what I have. A threaded bolt with a metal ring on it. If so, I got it at Pegasus.com

Dear Olaf:

Do you perhaps know when (year) the picture of the "ELF" GTAm was taken and why do you believe it is chassis number #1530834?

Not sure I've ever seen this picture before.(Post#20) That was 1996 at Monterey Historics. Note that my hair wasn't grey and my son's collection of Legos on the outdoor carpet. We dragged that outdoor carpet around to race events for years, so he could have a familiar place to hang out. No wonder he became a race driver.
The car went to Belgium in 1999, after we towed it 25,000 miles around the US, racing and showing it. It's featured in a youtube video in Beligium or France.
The other car ,#28 now belongs to Lawrence Auriana in Ct. Anthony Rimicci just posted it on FB today. They've borrowed it for an event of some sort.
