any takers for more pics/the whole story? We have taken so much useful info from here without saying anything, we thought you might like a look:D

Yes, more pictures please!!! It seems that the car is (or should I say it was) super-rare 2000GTV SE!! I am glad that you decided not to keep the leather (vinyl) top;) .

akitaman 06-11-2006 03:58 PM

Looks great!

nero 06-11-2006 06:52 PM

WOW, you took a junkyard dog and totally transformed it.Good show, and yes more pics and tell us more.

spannerman 06-11-2006 10:15 PM

Awsome car.Want to do one myself oneday. Would really like to read the story.

axeman74 06-11-2006 11:13 PM

I for one would like to hear the entire story.

I don't think this car was an SE though, I think ikt probably just had a vinyl roof fitted by a trimmer at some stage, as they were fashionable and a cool think to have in the 70/80's.

Hoooo ha! what a beaut.
Please show us the whole story!

alfazagato 06-12-2006 12:37 PM

Great job boys! What happened to the engine/'box/axle/suspension in all this work? Can we have more photographs please?
PS.I seem to recall the the SE model had a "white" roof covering. Anyway on the blue and silver cars that I know. Perhaps the red cars had a black roof. Anyone know?

Instead of doing your homework reviving a Giulia 105
Ah...the kids of today...

PSk 06-12-2006 04:26 PM

What a transformation from an absolute piece of ***** ... and yeah I'm meaning the 'pink' ugly thing in the first photo!.

Regarding the SE's ... they were simply dealer stuck on [email protected] to try and sell the last few 2000 GTV's in England because nobody wanted them. They were never factory and even if I owned the very last one and it was in concours condition I would rip all the 'bad taste' stuff off and return it to how Alfa Romeo made the poor car. Sometimes the English have absolutely no taste ... just horrible.

This just goes to show anything can be restored :). I bet there is a big issue regarding 'who' is going to pedal it ... ;)

Well, I knew that, I was just being sarcastic:o .

Head light trims and front grille painted black were equally horrible:p . I have to say that the SE is a close tie with the radford GT.

I'd love to see or read anything that you have about the restoration/transformation.

Welcome to the site!!

Alfretta 06-13-2006 01:36 AM

Hi Scabby,

Can't wait for the details of the restoration project ... it's looking great!!!

Did you have the paint job professionally done?! Can you briefly tell me the details ... epoxy primer(?) etc.?

Cheers, and well done ... the car looks like fun :)

Shambeko 06-13-2006 02:20 AM

Looks great guys. Some pics of the engine and running gear would be great.
I'm a student, and I cannot afford to do anything to my Spider until I graduate in another year. If I can get a job that is.
