Here are some of the 848... cars I have information about, some of it made available by martinue on this board.

848001 Autohaus Taunus. German race history. I have owned this car since 1984

848002 reportedly was sold to Frankfurt but likely was sold to Ecuador instead. Possible Ecuadorean race history. It was recently sold by VSOC.

848003 Autohaus Taunus, sold to Helmut Haehn; converted to 1300; sold by Thiesen in Germany recently.

848009

848011 Autodelta prepared; converted to 1300
848012

848016 probably Autodelta prepared w/ substantial modifications
848017 probably Autodelta prepared w/ substantial modifications

Hello Alleggerita.

concerning the GTA chassis no:848011 ,I can give some information:

We bought this GTA in a package of 3 cars 1998 in Essen/germany.
(with my GTV6 Gp.A works and anther GTA 1600 stradale)

The car was white and in a desolate state . Cause I want to let the GTV6 in my garage, I had to sell the two GTA. But there was no signes of an autodelta preparation on 848011 you mentioned. It was a normal streetcar ,about the conversion to 1300 I cannot say something, because the car came without engine . In Zolder same year ,I had contact with Nick Atkins ,we raced both in european challenge , and he told me ,that he wants to buy an GTA to be more competetive as his TI Super. Some weeks later, his co-driver,John Dooley cam to germany to check the GTA 848011 and than Nick bought the car . I know, that he want to prepare it for racing, but I loose contact and dont know what happens to 848011. BUT!!! in fact, that I had no original german car papers( KFZ-Brief missing) I contacted german immatriculation center in Flensburg. They gave information: first imatriculation in germany 2/2/1966 !!!!! ( a ghost car)
Perhaps, another member know the following history.

About the other 848... I had ,I can tell , that he was sold over another station to the netherlands .It was a stradale without racehistory, and had an new brake/clutch system with pedals from high and a new dashboard ( but both later conversions, not from Alfa!!!)!He came in color brown metallic and left in original red.The engine was 1750 with 45 mm Solex-carbs!Unfortunately I dont remember the complete chassisnumber! I will look in my old assurancepapers, perhaps I can find something.

Interesting story about 848011, especially the registration date. Did the car have the German chassis plate on the passenger side inner fender when you got it? It should have if it was originally registered in Germany.

Hello,

I cannot remeber at the plate? because I dont spent so much time in this car, because I want to sell it .But not all GTA had the plate at the same place ,it is often, when they imported by official importer. If they came private, the place often was another. It must be first a street car , because it has some corosion and all the competitioncars , that I saw in my life never had corosion.

If 848011 is the car Nick bought then yes it did get converted into a race car, FIA App K. Period F spec but never got used very much and sits in a garage now I believe. Small world!

848009

Just came across some old information from the GTA register by Anders Ericsson.

Apparently in 1985 the car was owned by Peter Pertsch in Germany.

Anybody know him or the car? Is this by any chance the third 1969 Scuderia Autohaus Taunus 1600 GTA? Was it ever painted yellow? Most of their cars were.

848006

Information from an old register - thanks martinue - shows 848006 to have been in the ownership of Haehn at some point in time with the following description: yellow, damaged, street, original interior.

I actually have a vague recollection of having seen that car at Haehn's shop.

Given the color described and the fact that Scuderia Autohaus Taunus used to paint their cars yellow, this might be the third 1969 car described in the for Sale ad posted earlier. Eg. 848001, 848003, 848006.

848012

848012 seems to have appeared. Possibly information given in post #8 re: preparation of 848011 may apply to 848012?

Just summarizing updates including some info from the new Alleggerita II 3 volume set. Any additional info or clarifications would be appreciated.

848001 Autohaus Taunus. German race history.

848002 Probable Hernan Ampudia race car - Ecuador race history. Sold by VSOC.

848003 Autohaus Taunus, sold to Helmut Haehn; converted to 1300; German/Swiss race history; sold by Thiesen in Germany.

848004

848005

848007

848008

848009 first registration in Germany; previous owner Peter Pertsch, Ulrich Baumgarten, brown metallic Stradale

848010

848011 described Autodelta prepared; converted to 1300 in Alfa Romeo supplement (Auto Capital); described as Autodelta prepared in Alleggerita II. Italian registration. Italian and Austrian race history. Reportedly sold in Essen to Ulrich Baumgarten and then to Nick Atkins but no signs of Autodelta preparation noted then (see posts #46 and #49)

848012 Angelini prepared, 1900/2000 special engine, sold to Ecuador. Ecuador race history.

848016 Autodelta prepared w/ substantial modifications. Alleggerita II lists fuel injection engine. Italian registration. Italian & Austrian race history.

848011

Now sold, I should think, but I came across a 2011 advert for this car on the Race Cars Direct website. I think doubt has already been expressed elsewhere about the claimed history with Marko, but presumably the current owner knows the facts. Nice car.

Just mentioning it for the records ....

PS: Uli, did you ever post photos of the car you thought might have once held the SA engine?

848011

848011 remains an interesting question. The car shown above has a non-original chassis # stamping, interesting rear fender line and unusual rivets in the engine compartment. The supposed 65 built date is obviously incorrect. Was it rebuilt in period after a wreck ... is there more than one car with that number given that some records describe Autodelta prep but those who have seen the above car suggest that it was a Stradale. Then the supposed Dr. Helmut Marko hx adds more questions than it answers ....

I thought if you look at the FIA Homologation for the GTA and the FIA rules of the period, various items changed like brakes from Dunlop to ATE, so you can work out from the year the car was made and the FIA documents what components it was initially made with, then add the commentary who did what and when later.
