Usually the Sprint GT heads didn’t have the two tabs on the front for the cam cover tie down bolts. If you check your cam cover you will probably see it doesn’t have the tabs there. I think this came in late 66? Wouldn’t surprise me if some late GT’s had them though.

Same number I think as my original GT Veloce head. Could be Super as well.

And as for the part number : 10500-01500-00, that was also on heads without the tabs! I think the late Giulia Veloce’ heads had that part number. If I remember correctly the 1600 heads with the tabs also coincided with smaller ports which gave an extra 3 HP. Some of the early Sprint GT heads had a 101 part number. I’m rambling now so will stop and hope if I got anything wrong that some BB’er will correct me!

Your replacement head is a 1600 identified by the square symbol, just as alfa2go says likely GT Veloce or super. I was hunting for a replacement cylinder head a while back as the one that came with my 64 Sprint GT had been replaced with a later head like yours, I ended up finding one but before that I considered welding in the holes and cutting the tabs off and filing the edge flush with a file. I am told that the cam cover gasket currently sold has two bolt holes for the tab.

Thanks Exhausted & Alfa2go
i was actually considering cutting tabs off and filling in...
I might of found a genuine head now anyway so will sell the other one.
The part number head 10500-01500-00 ( last two photos) is original to the car/ motor i believe ( i have had it for 30 years).
When i was younger i let the machine shop shave it down and they went too deep!!!. It has had a 1750 head on it ever since..
Now just looking to get a a few parts back on it that keep it original.
cheers
