Rear window heater (demster) ground wire

Hi, can anyone let me know where exactly the ground wire for the rear window demister is attached to the body? Car concerned is a 1974 2000GTV.

Thanks, Jo

It looks like it grounds behind the rear seatback, right side. I can see a ground wire there from the trunk that appears to go to the right defroster connection at the window.

@Gubi right side=driver’s side? Also ground in trunk or in cabin actually behind the seat back? Thanks!

To the driver's right side. It's good form to be consistent and give positions on the car from the driver's perspective.

It's actually screwed into the vertical panel that supports the seatback. I could see it from the trunk. I assume this is stock, but I don't know my Alfa's history so couldn't tell you for sure...I was just in there yesterday and coincidentally noticed the wire.

Hi Gubi, so it's fixed to the BACKside of the vertical panel i.e. on the "trunk side" not on the "cabin side"(?)

Here's a photo. No guarantees, but it looks original.

"Hi Tom. I also think it is original as there's a small hole there like that of a screw. Thanks a million!

Joseph M. I'm assuming your GTV is a RHD?

My original LHD 71 GTV has the ground on the passenger side mounted on the interior seat back.
