Current wheels will......

Hello all,
Iím hoping someone might know the answer. I have a set of 6x14Ē GTA Stradas that Iíd like to try putting on my Ď69 Spider Veloce. Itís current BWMs are losing fancy with me. If the gtas fit, and most importantly, we like the look, Iíll order a new set for the GT 1300 jr. Iíve seen photos of spiders with the gta rims, but better to see them in person. Or maybe use the original Steeleís from the gt?
Thanks in advance for your help or suggestions.

Hi Yachtman,

I was so outerly proud to have the GTA rims on my former 1600 '72 1600 Junior... that I thought it will obviously be the same for my '67 Scalino... Guess what...I'm glad I didn't and kept my car on the 15' steelies it was born with.

For me the only real coooooool option for the Scalino would be to have the TZ Technomagnesio's or replicas,...because Me, Myself & I find these to be gorgeous looking on a Stepnose

But this is merely a question of personal taste, and everyone is freeeeeee to what he wants ... in the old town... (soup dragons)

This what the spider would look like with the GTAs. I just put on one side so far. Definitely brighter, which I like. But if they don’t fit, they’ll on the gt. I spun the wheels and no rub. Rolled the car and all seems well. But we’ll never know until it’s driven. Now for the other side.

This is what the car looks like with the GTAs. They spun ok while the car was lifted. Now for the other side and a slow drive.
Also, the current tires are worn 195-60 14s vs the gt 18-70 Pirelli CN36s.
So the car sits taller also.

Just put right sides on took a short test drive. Didnít hear any rubs or noises. I did notice the huge difference steering slowly between the 185/70 vs the 195/60. WOW. I donít think Iíd ever put that size/width tire on a stock street car.
And at a stop, the steering is way easier, just like everyone has said. So now I at least know one thing when itís time for the new wheels and tires. 185 or less.

That 1300gtj looks so nice with its original wheels ... you're just suffering a little boredom ... 🙂

Thanks Douglas. I’ll be needing another set of CN36s.
Pete, yes boredom. I tell my wife I’m experimenting.

Nothing better than classic steel wheels on a Osso di Seppia Spider. They look just perfect!
And nothing better than GTA alloys on a GT.
Thatīs how i would do it, without any hesitation...

Im finding it difficult. I had pretty much made my mind up that when i flogged my Elite i was going to buy a Giulietta Spider or a Giulia Spider, because i think they are so very pretty. but now i'm looking at pictures of your Duetto i am wavering.

original steel wheels and hubcaps always look good. how do the narrow tires feel. I find they feel much lighter and sharper.
