Only ideas I have are finding used door panels whose strips can be salvaged, or buying new reproduction panels. I don't think that anyone sells the strips alone, and I am not aware of any industrial material that could be cut & shaped into strips that would look decent.

Having just typed that, seems that I recall a recent BB thread about someone harvesting stainless hardware off an 80's Volvo in a wrecking yard, cutting it down, and using it for this application. Anyone else recall that?

p.s., there should be a special place in Hell for PO's who cut up door panels in this way!

I used 1/2 round stainless steel stock and rounded off the ends then polished it on my Super.

here is a pair of originals, not perfect but very workable, they are stainless, not chrome with captive steel back that has tabs which fit through attaching to the upholstery panel. I'd recommend using 4-5mm luan playwood to make the new panels. I want $25 for the pair, includes the broken extra piece which would fit a rear side panel. Don't know where you're located, can ship in a heavy tube insured, $11 anywhere in the US. thank you, roger

At least that's all he cut through for the sake of speakers. You should see what the PO did to mine.

Thanks!
Also quite a bit stronger... and much heavier! Attachment is a challenge. I epoxied stainless screws to the backside the bolted them on. A threaded hole in the stainless would be better.

You can get fully built door cards with plastic crap chrome strips. Just saying. No need to do it right. Just put these replacements in and sell her....

I purchased them as longer half rods (8' I think) and cut them to the right leant. Then the polishing guy rounded the ends and buffed them to a shine.
