105.37 not listed on registry input form.

Hello there,

After 12 months or so I have got the delivery details from Marco...(my delay, not his) but the input form on the registry site doesn't list a 105.37 option - 1600 GTV RHD

Is this something which can easily be added, or is it just a glitch - I see there are a dozen or so 105.37s in the spreadsheet?

A question too - what does the "g d" on the model plate after Giulia Sptint GT veloce stand for?

Anyhoo...pending any adjustments to the form, my car is:

1967 Giulia Sprint GT veloce g.d.
Built 31 March 1967
Sold to J Wright & sons, Melbourne, Aust.
Alfa Red (501) with black 'Nero fumo' interior

Car was last on the road in Tasmnia, Australia in 1993.

I purchased it 18 months ago, and would like to have it on the road by this OZ summer, in pretty much original state, barring hazy 30 year old recollections about the adequacy of power, Dunlop brakes and tyre/gearing specs.

Status of vehicle at time of purchase:
Car had been largely stripped of the shiny bits, NEARLY all of which came with it in boxes.
Engine and gearbox reportedly OK ("fully rebuilt") - it started, ran, idled smoothly and was indeed mechanically quiet.
Paint bad.
Rust restricted to the boot floor (three quarters of it - leaking around badly repaired tail light cutouts, I'd say) 3 small sections of floor and lower outer panels.
Front and rear panels and radiator support have been knocked around in what appear to be relatively minor accidents and could do with renewal, but that can come later, and it's wearing a later RH door.
Full carpets and upholstery covers required, plus the fake-wood dash and dash top vinyl had suffered.

Cheers,
Paul.

g.d. is the abbreviation of guida destra or right (hand) drive

On the 1967 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce g.d. model plate, the g.d. is an abbreviation of guida destra; literally, drive right, but we would translate it as right hand drive.

Paul, thanks for your post. After reading it I checked the input form, and noted that there were two choices labeled 105.36, while the descriptions were different: one for LHD, the other for RHD. I've now made a change so that 105.37 is now an option, with the correct description.

This never ceases to amaze me... my own car 3025520 was made one month earlier. And even though 1974 was the last model year for US spec GTVs, the register has gathered data showing cars built as late as March 1975! The highest known number is 3027031 - a car I have personally inspected. No typo in the number.

The 1974 serial numbers are scattered all over a 4000 serial number range. I'm pretty sure they didn't sell that many US GTVs in a single year... I wonder if Alfa skipped a bunch of numbers (akin to Chapman with the Elan). Serial number scatter on Zagatos makes sense, as piles of numbered platforms were shipped from Alfa to the body maker and seldom used in sequential order, but GTVs were built in house by Alfa.
