Correct chrome set up for the windscreen wiper base?

Hi guys, can anyone advise me on whether this is the correct set up for the windscreen wiper base of a 101 Spider (1600, ´63)?
In case the chrome set up in the first pick is correct, I´m missing the other one, anyone has it for sale?
Dennis

FWIW on my 1961 101 Spider they are black plastic with the black washer from your second photo underneath it.

That is correct on ALL 750 101 Spiders per the parts book and in real life.

Thanks guys for your replies.

Unfortunately and "in real life", someone made me confused by sometimes in the past adding that chrome bezel on one of the windshield wiper bases, a fitting that actually looks very genuine and belonging there.

Checked of course the parts book as well, tav. 91 and 92, windshield wiper for Sprint and Spider, but the (rubber?) bases shown on both pages are without a doubt the ones for Sprint, not Spider as Spider ones would have been angled in one of the ends and not straight in both as the Sprint ones are.

It is also pretty impossible to find a pic on internet or anywhere else, showing specifically just the windshield wipers as no one takes normally pics like this or when a car is for sale!
And the ones I found, generally depicting the wipers from a long distance, didn´t have the resolution needed to at all discern any creadible details.

Wiper parking

My 101 Spider's wipers park on the passenger side and sweep from right to left as viewed from the front seats. (as does Gordon's pictured above)

Greig's 1960 Spider parks on the driver's side and sweeps from left to right. All the other Spiders here in Port Elizabeth park on the passenger side like mine.

When I Google Giulietta Spider ->images, I see cars fitted with both.

Looking at the diagrams in the Giulietta Parts Manual I see that SWF and Marelli wipers appear to park to the drivers side, Lucas on the passenger side.
But the manual only specifies SWF and Marelli types for Ti, Berlina, various Sprint models and SS/SZ.
Spiders and Spider Veloces are only listed against the Lucas units (as are some Sprint models).

The Giulia Parts manual also lists Lucas only for Sprints and Spiders, Marelli for SS.

So if Spiders only had Lucas units fitted, do the Lucas units come with both left and right parking?

If so is the fitment part of the US/Euro difference, or is it just a case of Luigi fitting the parts sent by Lucas that week?

Lucas - right or left parking. I bet you could just turn the park contact and cover 180 degrees to change it.

But you would still need wiper arms that were cranked 10 deg in the opposite direction ...

Well observed Mike !! Actually 10990's wipers park on whichever side I stop them, the auto park function has never worked... to be honest I keep a bottle of Rain-Ex in the boot of all the running Giulietta's & apply it at the first sign of inclement weather

The Factory publication for the '59/60 Interim Spiders shows the wipers parked on the RHS away from the driver. Quarter lights & the fixed hood in a bag date it as late '59/early '60. Eagle eyes will notice that the Factory pic also shows the side repeater lights fitted high up just below the windshield - this was a *very* short lived styling exercise right at the beginning of 1960.... our 08930 is a Feb '60 with this same indicator placement..... and the wipers are parked the correct side.

Ciao
Greig

High mounted Indicators Sprint & Spider

Just so that owners of Interim Sprints with high mounted indicators don't feel left out, here is the cover of the Factory brochure - note the indicator placement.

A very short lived styling exercise on the Spider & Sprint, marginal on the Spider, hideous on the Sprint, yet just perfect on the Berlina & Ti

Ciao
Greig

Hahahah ... love it Greig!

Do not feel alone ... a quick google and I found a number of cars all with driver's side wiper parking.

Nice collection of photos, but all contemporary by the look of it.

All the period photos I have seen of Spiders show the wipers parked consistently on the right (with varying degrees of precision), with the exception of Right Hand Drive Giulias which park on the left.

Yes, this has always been my understanding. When I saw Greig's parked the wrong way round (now explained), I did a simple Google search on Giulietta Spider -> Images, and was VERY surprised to see that out of the first 10 or so pictures that came up four were "the wrong way round" and this prompted my question.
