Sorry if its been asked before but

How do you remove the brake disc covers on an Lsd rear axle. It looks like the whole shaft has to come out? I want to refurbish it so any links appreciated.

Thx
chris

Unfortunately that's the case, I've only ever fitted new ones after fitting new wheel bearings, BUT, looking at it again on the car, after removing the 4 bolts that hold the halfshaft assembly in, you may be able to slide the old one out and a new one in because of the cut-out in the back plate.

Sorry, you'll need to remove the caliper, rotor and axle.

All Spiders had them since 1972...ish

If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough
Oo--V--oO There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Mental Illness".

Standard on 2 ltr Spiders.

Easy to spot, the diff casing is different to non-lsd.
It has a triangle in the casting, see pic.
No triangle in non-lsd axles

Thanks....that's great.
So, can I put Bilstein W75 oil in it.
Local Italian car specialist suggested that was the correct oil for the diff.
