I am trying to bleed the Viscomatic system in the Q4, finally. I have the tester hooked up and was able to interface to the Viscomatic control unit. I'm not really sure what sequence I need to go through. I see a handful of errors (five of them), but they may be old. It's not entirely obvious how to clear them. Has anyone come across the user's manual for MA12A?
I read from the translated Q4 manual posted on http://www.berlinasportivo.com/Techn...164manual.htm:
'Exhaust of the hydraulic system VISCOMATIC
The exhaust of the circle is made by an appropriate valve inside the device, and is not thus not accessible and not adjustable.
The exhaust is to be accomplished only with ALFA ROMEO the TESTER: This procedure plans the start of the engine, whereby this is brought to 2000 revolutions; then sends a controlling of the tester a constant river of 450 mA to the proportional valve and controls according to also the memory load valve, increases the pressure of the circle over the maximum operating values, whereby the bleed valve is opened (on 102 bar calibrated) and lets to the container air collected in the plant to stream out. In the case of completion of this procedure it is possible to examine with the tester whether the plant without air is.'
Should I infer from this that the bleeding of the system does not involve opening any bleeder valves, just revving the engine while going through the test procedure on the tester?
The system currently has Dexron in it (came to me that way), so I will be flushing with Tutela GI/R as soon as it arrives (on order from the UK). It appears as though there might be a purge function, I presume to actually drain the system. Anyone know how that works? I can post pics of the menus on the tester if that would help.
