Synchro Sleeve Problem

Has anyone been having interference issues with the presently available synchro sleeves? I am assembling a 105 series transmission with new sleeves and new Goetze synchro rings. The problem is the sleeve has significant contact with both adjacent rings at the same time when in the neutral position. Gears are correctly space at 42mm. I have tried sleeves from Centerline and Classic Alfa and both have the same issue. A used sleeve and my last NOS sleeve both have clearance, both suppliers state they are not aware of this problem.

I have rebuilt about 20 transmissions over the years so I have some experience in assembling transmissions but I cannot think of anything else to adjust. Any suggestions?

slider rings

Simply use good factory used sliders and syncro bands.
I suspect it`s a problem with the syncro bands as most aftermarket bands are not to factory dimensions...
This is an old issue by the way.

Synchro Sleeve Problems...

Thanks Richard, I may have to go the used route but good used ones are getting harder to find, I have used up my supply. I believe the problem is with the repro sleeves as a NOS Alfa sleeve seems to fit just fine with the Goetze bands.

Anyone have any experience with the Alfaholics premium quality synchro sleeves?

Regards,
Don

Update

I finally received the Alfaholics Premium Synchro Sleeve and in a trial fit it seemed to fit as well as my NOS sleeve. Transmission is now almost fully assembled, just needs the bell-housing and drive yolk installed. Hopefully I will install over the winter, depending on which car goes into storage and which car/cars get pulled apart...
