San Francisco Bay Area machine shop recommendations

I’m looking for a great machine shop that can inspect, balance, and polish the crank for the 3L engine build for my GTV6. Who fits the bill in this area? What else should be done to the crank? The heads will have to go too, but I’m focused on the crank at the moment.

Is Sammy Hale still around? Superior crank work.

Try Norman Racing in Berkeley.

Sammy is in rural Arizona now. I don't know if he's still doing work.
Morgan Machine in Walnut Creek.
I've used Ed's Crankshaft successfully off Winton in Hayward by the airport, I hear they may be gone now.

I know they are not in the Bay Area, but Marine Crankshaft in Santa Ana does great work.

I should have been more specific. I'm suggesting Norman Racing when you get to the head work.

Is Penniman and Richards still around?

I have a buddy that builds VW drag motors in that area. I could ask him.

It's Giuseppe's giubos, not Guido's guibos, on my 78 Spider and Sport Sedan

Terry Tinney is still around. I believe he's in Livermore (Performance Motors). I shipped a couple of cranks to him in the past.

xakfaracer is correct Norman is not only in the Bay Area but has tons of experience with Alfa engines and can customize your needs.

I am in San Francisco, but use Cylinder head services in Spokane Washington.(509) 483-6402. There prices are much more reasonable than the bay area, and do great work. Speak to Mike.
