Pertronix for v6?

One of my back burner projects is an 87 spider with 164s v6 coupled to a 95 borg Warner t-5 from a Mustang and using 3 IDF Weber’s. I will be using an 81 gtv6 distributor and was wondering if anyone has used a pertronix or similar electronic ignition setup to replace the original early 81-83 style sensors with its unavailable amplifier. Would also be a back up for my 81 gtv6. Thanks!

There is a good chance that the inductive sensor in the distributor will fire a GM HEI module or one of the Bosch modules for inductive sensors. That would just be a wiring change instead of messing with the guts of the distributor.

Distributor

As Ed said that distributor will trigger various Bosch (VW/Volvo/Mercedes etc) as well as Crane or MSD capactive ignitions.

I have researched posts about using various Bosch modules but haven’t seen a definitive answer. Seeing how simple some of the aftermarket ignition systems are got me to thinking about my application

That I will. Saw reference to it in another post. Thanks for the clarification!

If I had an earlier type dizzy I would hook it up and test it on the bench but I only have a later, hall effect spare. Let me know if i can help.
