Oil pressure drops at higher revs

I just replaced the oilpressure gauge sender and now the pressure reads about 40 at cool idle and moves on acceleration but drops to almost 0 around 2000 - 3000 rpm

What engine/model year we talking about here?

Does the oil pressure light come on (5 psi)?

Hook up an ohm meter to the sending unit and run the engine. See if the sending unit actually reflects zero oil pressure. Might be a fault in the dash gauge itself.

Just fitted new gauge sender, almost no pressure registered before, model is a Spider 93
No warning light comes on, ever. First start after new sender reading very nice pressure but around 3000 _3500 dropped to zero . Now it cuts out around 2000 but goes up to 57+ as revs drop and a little lower in idling.
Very confusing

Just realized a possible problem!
When changing the pressure gauge sender I put blue thread locker on the thread which may be an insulator therefore making bad contact on the engine block ???

also the senders are junk even when new. it might just be a bad sender even if it is new.
also check the grounds, and that the wire is good and the plug end is good.

If the wire is busted in side the plastic coating it might lose its connection when the wire vibrates at certain RPM's and make contact at others.

I'mguessing your threadlocker is the culprit or...you installed the sender backwards ciao, chris

OF course, for the professional paranoids among us (like me), there are some truely disastrous engine failures you could also have.
