1300 manifold capscrews

Anyone know the reason for these? I have a 1970 1300 european TI 105.39 and finishing up a rebuild. Am wondering why they put bronze capscrews on top side of all four headers. These are not the attachment studs. Look like they might have been for air injection or something but that was not an enviornment issue in Europe.??????

I do not know what Alfa used them for? But I use them on my 1975 Nuova Giulia 1300 to check carb idle adjustments. Just take the caps off one at a time and insert a probe from an emissions tester and tune each to optimum.

They sound like Air Injection Reactor (AIR) fittings to me. Is it possible that the manifold has been changed?

Anythings possible on this car, I found it had cams off a 2L spica engine. Now has 200001 cams. Trying to use a webber DGAV 33A 32/36 carb but am having trouble getting an idle. Any suggestions?
