variator possibly not working on TS 8V - how to test

Hi I have converted my 105 with an 8V TS and am not convinced the variator is working. Is there anyway to test? when driving it doesn't feel as quite right.

thanks
chris

If you put 12v on the variator solenoid when the car is idling, the engine should stall or nearly stall. This would indicate a working solenoid and variator.

Then, use a volt meter and rev the engine a bit, it should show 12v. This would indicate that the variator also gets power when the engine is revved.

Restoring a 75 TS aka the tickspark.

Excellent thx. Is there any way I can check which is the positive terminal or does it not matter?

Cheers Chris

Thx all. The variator is a working. I did also get 12v to the feeder cables so would seem all is fine.

Thx again to all.
